Conyers First United Methodist Church partnered with the village of Buenos Aires on an economic development project to build a pulperia, which will be used to cook a number of healthy food items to be sold in the community.
Several families have come together for this business venture and the Mayor of San Esteban has also invested municipal funds into this project. The business leaders plan on selling healthy snacks to HOI’s elementary school students during morning break and to patients waiting at the HOI health clinic.
The business leaders have been trained by the HOI staff in small business startup. HOI’s Economic Development Coordinator, Eriberto Rivera, will continue to work with the families as they progress with this new initiative.
