Spring Break usually brings to mind family trips to Disney World, a week at the beach or just time relaxing with friends. But how about a cave tour in Honduras, learning how to rope a calf, and making tortillas from scratch? Those were just some of the activities that families participated in during the Spring Break Family Mission Trip in April to Rancho el Paraiso. Families from North Point Ministries, North Carolina and Thompson, Georgia formed one team to work together with residents of the village of El Jobo on projects to improve their health and quality of life while developing lasting relationships.
It was a week packed with many activities designed to provide a cultural learning experience for the 11 children and teens along with a chance to focus on serving others. Here is what one team member had to say about her trip:
“I thoroughly enjoyed my mission trip to Honduras. It was the best experience I’ve ever had! I have never felt closer to God and to the people and children of Honduras. My 13 year old daughter said it was the best spring break she has ever had!” – Astrid Whirley, North Point Ministries
It’s never too early to plan ahead! The dates for the upcoming 2015 Family Spring Break Mission will be April 6 – 12, 2015 for Honduras. Watch for news on additional opportunities to serve as a family in Honduras and Nicaragua. Give your children an experience that they will not only remember for many years, but that will change their hearts forever! For more information, please contact Laurie Willing.
