Great Day On the Links for HOI!
September 23, 2015
Last week HOI held its 13th Annual Golf Tournament at the Summit Chase Country Club in Snellville, GA. It was a great success to say the least! For the first time ever the tournament sold out with a total of 27 teams and 108 players from all over Metro Atlanta. Thanks to our generous sponsors and players we raised almost $37,000 for our ministries and development projects in Honduras and Nicaragua.
This year’s tournament was bigger than any we’ve had before. We added a few hole-in-one competitions giving our players a chance to win some big prizes! This year’s prizes included: a $25,000 cash prize, a 4 day / 3 night golf vacation at the French Lick Resort in Indiana, a 3 day / 2 day vacation at TPC in San Antonio, and a Travis Matthew head-to-toe outfit. Unfortunately, no one sunk a hole-in-one to win one of the prizes – but there’s always next year!
In addition to the first place overall trophy we added two new categories for tournament champions: best overall corporate team and best overall church team. We want to congratulate Gainesville Marina for winning both the corporate team trophy and first place overall. This was Gainesville Marina’s second overall win in a row! We also want to congratulate The Church in Watkinsville, GA for winning first place church team.
Again, we want to thank all of our sponsors for contributing to the success of this year’s golf tournament. Your support helps enable HOI to continue working with Central American communities in need through strategic partnerships for a better future. This year’s sponsors included:
Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped with the event. Also, we want to thank Con-way Freights and Mizuno Golf for their raffle prize donations. Special thanks to Graham and Penny Stovall for contributing so much time, energy, and passion into the golf tournament. We greatly value your continued support!
If you missed out on this year’s tournament don’t worry! We already have the next one scheduled for Monday, September 12, 2016. Mark your calendars now and we look forward to seeing you!
