HOI Celebrates 25 Years of Service with the President of Honduras

Decatur, GA, Monday, September 15, 2014 – Honduras President Juan Orlando Hernandez will keynote the dynamic, rich 25-year relationship between his country and Atlanta-based volunteer mission organization, HOI (Honduras Outreach Inc.) during a celebration here on Nov. 13.

HOI CEO Jerry Eickhoff said, “Our organization is deeply honored that the head of state will be with us.  I’m sure I speak for the thousands of North American volunteers when I say the Honduran people have inspired us much more than we could ever re-pay.”

The celebration will be held at the Marriott Courtyard in downtown Decatur.  The event will honor four of HOI’s long-time supporters.

HOI is a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to sending short-term missionary volunteers to help initiate sustainable change in Honduras and Nicaragua.  For the past 25 years the organization has made substantial progress in the areas of health, education, community development, agriculture, and commerce in the communities that they work.  Due the dynamic partnership between Central American villagers and North American missionaries, infant mortality has nearly been eliminated, quality education for children is increasing, and communities are becoming healthier and more vibrant than ever.

The celebratory event will feature a silent auction beginning at 6:15 pm followed by dinner at 7 pm.

If you would like to be a part of this great community of change and join the celebration, you can register online at www.hoi.org/rsvp or contact Caitlin McCormick at ljwilling@hoi.org.  Registration ends October 31.
