Medical Shipment Arrives at Rancho el Paraiso

On March 7, a semi-truck filled with lifesaving medical supplies was shipped from the MedShare warehouse in Atlanta, Georgia headed for Rancho el Paraiso. It was shipped from the port of Savannah, Georgia to Puerto Cortes, Honduras. From there, the valuable cargo traveled 10 hours by truck through the mountains of Honduras. It arrived at Rancho el Paraiso on April 19, where its contents were distributed throughout HOI’s four clinics as well as other local healthcare providers.

This shipment, which will benefit the 9,000 patients served annually by HOI’s medical staff, was made possible by the generosity and hard work of HOI partners MedShare and GlobalX. MedShare, an Atlanta-based nonprofit, collects new and refurbished medical supplies and equipment from hospitals in the U.S. for distribution to over 85 developing countries across the world. GlobalX, the North Point Ministries international missions division, generously supplied the $24,000 necessary to cover processing, handling, and shipping costs. Dedicated to supporting their partners both financially and physically, GlobalX will send their first two teams to Rancho el Paraiso in September 2013.
