Stephen is originally from Portland, Oregon and attended college in Dallas, Texas where he graduated with a Finance degree from Southern Methodist University in 2010. He first experienced the life-changing ministry of HOI during his junior year, when he traveled with a number of friends to Honduras for a spring break mission trip organized by friend and fellow Board member, David Luttrell. He also participated in HOI’s first Nicaragua mission trip.
During college, Stephen completed internships with the Portland Trailblazers, American Airlines, and the Office of George W. Bush. After graduating from SMU, Stephen accepted a position in a Finance Leadership Development program with defense contractor, Raytheon. He completed rotations in program finance, internal audit, and corporate strategy before leaving Raytheon to join Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign. Stephen worked as a member of the fundraising team and became the Director of Donor and Raiser Programs, where he was responsible for ensuring that the campaign’s most significant donors were valued and kept engaged throughout the election.
Stephen recently received his MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
