If you’re curious about HOI’s work in Honduras and Nicaragua but haven’t yet had the time to spend a full week getting your hands dirty, a “vision trip” may be the perfect opportunity. Senior HOI staff and Board directors will continue to lead short trips to the ranch as well as other HOI facilities in Choluteca, Honduras and Jinotega, Nicaragua over the coming months. These trips are designed to give current and potential supporters first-hand experiences with our ministry with an eye to seeing personally the work that God has inspired through the entire HOI family over the past 25 years.
The purpose behind vision trips is to allow each visitor to identify specific areas of the HOI ministry that he or she may feel led to support, through gifts of funds, time, or talent. Vision trip members stay in the same lodging utilized by full-week working mission teams and are given the opportunity to learn about each ministry program while meeting key local personnel and witnessing God’s grace at work. Due to the small-group nature of these short trips, guests are able to ask questions of each program director in Honduras to better understand the HOI mission, program implementation, and results. An in-depth look at HOI’s financial background is presented in order to give visitors a full understanding of the health, needs, and key areas of emphasis and impact of the organization.
The next vision trip will be May 18-21, 2014 to Rancho el Paraiso and will cost $300 (airfare not included). In addition to those who are interested in becoming more involved, HOI frequently invites subject-matter experts who are able to contribute valuable insight to HOI’s programs. If you are interested in exploring ways to partner with HOI or sharing your gifts with HOI through a vision trip, please contact Jerry Eickhoff.
